Lakeview Orchestra has been a very important part of my life since I joined the ensemble in 2016. I am proud to serve as a violinist, Board member, and active volunteer (for which I was recognized by the Illinois Council of Orchestras as Volunteer of the Year in 2024). Our volunteer community orchestra strives to be an inclusive, welcoming ensemble that provides high-quality classical music at an affordable price to the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago and beyond. We are holding our annual fundraiser this year to support our goals, which include:

  • Continuing our residency at The Athenaeum Center for Thought and Culture in Lakeview
  • Providing free concert tickets to students
  • Inviting prominent guest conductors to perform with our orchestra
  • Sponsoring a high-quality concerto competition for high school students including the prize of performing as a soloist with Lakeview Orchestra
  • Inviting world-class soloists from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyrica Opera Orchestra, and elsewhere (who do not usually perform as soloists with their "home" orchestras)
  • Presenting rarely heard works and "hidden gem" pieces that are not performed by other local orchestras, as well as pieces by under-represented composers
  • Fostering a culture of musical community within the Lakeview neighborhood and beyond
  • Increasing our marketing and visibiltiy in the Chicagoland area and growing our audience

Thank you for supporting Lakeview Orchestra, attending our concerts, inviting your family and friends, and helping us to promote Live Music and the Performing Arts in Chicago!

ABOUT Our Symphony, Our Future!

Lakeview Orchestra is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization celebrating more than a decade of artistic excellence. This spring, the orchestra has a goal to raise at least $25,000 as part of our Our Symphony, Our Future! campaign, which will allow us to continue bringing classical music to the greater Lakeview community.

Every dollar raised will go directly to helping us achieve our mission and this year’s priorities that include:

  • Increasing Accessibility for the Community – This season, we’re offering 250 free student tickets to help young audiences and families experience the magic of live orchestral music without financial barriers.
  • Expanding the Guest Conductor Program – We’re welcoming three distinguished guest conductors, each bringing fresh perspectives and elevating our artistic programming. Their expertise will challenge and inspire both our musicians and our audience.
  • Enhancing Member Experience – With 88 dedicated musicians, we’re investing in rehearsal space upgrades and new artistic development opportunities to ensure our members continue to refine their talents and deliver exceptional performances.

Donations to Lakeview Orchestra are 100% tax-deductible. Questions? Contact us at info@lakevieworchestra.org.
