I’ve played violin for most of my life, and after four wonderful years playing in orchestras and chamber groups at Lawrence University, I struggled to find that same sense of community—musicians who are serious about playing but also have careers outside of music. That’s why finding Lakeview Orchestra in Chicago felt like such a gift.
I’ve now been a member for two years and serve as assistant principal second violin. Every Tuesday night, no matter how hectic the week, rehearsal lifts me up. The level of preparation, thoughtful music direction, and camaraderie in the orchestra continually impress me—we’ve truly earned our place as Chicago’s premier community orchestra.
Of course, maintaining this level of excellence takes resources. To cover operational costs, investments in community outreach, and expansion of our guest conductor program, we rely on support from people who believe in what we do. If you’re able, please consider contributing to our spring fundraising campaign. Your gift helps us keep sharing this music with one another and the community.

Lakeview Orchestra is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization celebrating more than a decade of artistic excellence. This spring, the orchestra has a goal to raise at least $25,000 as part of our Our Symphony, Our Future! campaign, which will allow us to continue bringing classical music to the greater Lakeview community.
Every dollar raised will go directly to helping us achieve our mission and this year’s priorities that include:
