Dear Friends:
Making music is one of my dearest "hobbies": although for me it's more than that--it's a fusion of my social, intellectual, political, and spiritual aspirations. While I could never achieve a career as a violist, I can't get away from devoting a portion of every week to learning and reflecting on the inspired music of our cultural inheritance. The Lakeview Orchestra has been my preferred musical home since its founding in 2012, where other professionals with a pure love of music (but other careers) can gather to grow our skills and passions, with discipline and self-challenge, drawing on the abundant community resources and talent of Chicago. We have blossomed into a truly mature organization and grown together as musicians and friends over these many years. Our ambitious mission is self-funded and enhanced generally through donations by those who have the means to give, and I give as much as I am able to support this amazing group. I invite you to give us a financial gift, no matter how small, to keep our organization afloat and keep our Chicago civic fabric richly diverse.
Lakeview Orchestra is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your donation is 100% tax deductable. Over the next couple of weeks, the orchestra has a goal to raise at least $25,000 as part of our "Our Symphony, Our Future!" campaign. I have a personal goal to raise $1000. Every dollar raised will go directly to helping us achieve our mission and this year’s priorities that include:
Thanks for your support in any way! Come hear our concerts and bring friends/family!

Lakeview Orchestra is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization celebrating more than a decade of artistic excellence. This spring, the orchestra has a goal to raise at least $25,000 as part of our Our Symphony, Our Future! campaign, which will allow us to continue bringing classical music to the greater Lakeview community.
Every dollar raised will go directly to helping us achieve our mission and this year’s priorities that include:
- Increasing Accessibility for the Community – This season, we’re offering 250 free student tickets to help young audiences and families experience the magic of live orchestral music without financial barriers.
- Expanding the Guest Conductor Program – We’re welcoming three distinguished guest conductors, each bringing fresh perspectives and elevating our artistic programming. Their expertise will challenge and inspire both our musicians and our audience.
- Enhancing Member Experience – With 88 dedicated musicians, we’re investing in rehearsal space upgrades and new artistic development opportunities to ensure our members continue to refine their talents and deliver exceptional performances.
Donations to Lakeview Orchestra are 100% tax-deductible. Questions? Contact us at info@lakevieworchestra.org.
