Hello friends!

Lakeview Orchestra has been such an important creative outlet for me personally as a member of the trumpet section. Just over two years ago, the fam and I were streaming The Nutcracker in a bout of COVID-era festiveness, and I was singing along with the trumpet part, wondering just why I had gone 17 years without playing. I decided shortly thereafter to rectify that... I took some lessons and worked my ass off to win the 2nd chair in an audition with Lakeview 8 months later. Things came full circle when I performed excerpts from the Nutcracker with the Lakeview Orchestra at our holiday concert (and I played the full ballet with another symphony orchestra as well, in fact!). It's way more fun to play it for real than to sing it from my couch, I'll tell you what :) Please consider donating to this great cause.

Through its highly-praised performances, the orchestra provides a vital service to its community, enriching the lives of audience members

As Lakeview Orchestra celebrates 10 years of artisitc excellence, we also look to prepare for the next 10 years by launching the Lakeview Orchestra Spring Challenge with a goal to raise $10,000. Every dollar raised will go directly to helping us achieve our 2023 priorities that include:

  • Upgrading our rehearsal space and continuing our residencey at the Athenaeum Center for Thought and Culture: offsetting our increased performance and rehearsal space rental fees.

  • Welcoming guest musicians and conductors: Showcasing Chicago's rich talent and elevating performances.

  • Paternering with other arts organizations by collaborating with others to offer rich and dynamic programming to a growing audience, like Violins of Hope.

Join the Campaign

Investment in these Lakeview Orchestra priorities will help the orchestra fulfill its vision to be the premiere volunteer orchestra in Chicago. Please consider making a donation to the Lakeview Orchestra Spring Challenge. Donations to the orchestra are 100% tax-deductible and will directly fund the Orchestra’s operations.
